UberEATS is launching in Jacksonville Wednesday at midnight.
The app gives users an opportunity to browse menus and order food from more than 100 restaurants, including Dick’s Wings, Empire City Gastropub, European Street Café, Good Dough Doughnuts, Jersey Mike’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Shack Maui, Tijuana Flats, Whit’s Frozen Custard, Mary's Pub House and Zaxby’s.
The coverage area includes downtown, San Marco, Arlington, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach.
Delivery is available from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. The delivery fee for orders is $4.99.
In honor of the launch, Uber will give $25,000 to the First Coast Relief Fund to help residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Irma. The donation will be presented at noon Thursday at European Street Café, 2753 Park St.
“The restaurant scene in Jacksonville has grown over the years, and we’re excited to work with our restaurant partners to expand their reach at the tap of a button,” Juan Pablo Restrepo, general manager of UberEATS Florida, said in a statement. “When Uber launched in Florida, Jacksonville was the first city for the company to call home. Hurricane Irma’s impact has reverberated throughout this community, and we are committed to helping those affected.”
App users can receive $5 off two UberEATS orders with the code “EATSJAX” for a limited time.
